Michel Anderson serves as Vice Chair of the Finance and Administration Committee for the San Diego Regional Policy & Innovation Center (PIC) Board of Directors. Also principal of Michel Anderson & Associates, Anderson is a recognized community leader with more than 35 years of experience as a business and land use consultant specializing in government relations, project management, entitlements and public affairs.
Beyond his role with PIC, Anderson is the board chair of the San Diego Parks Foundation, which aims to improve the quality of life for communities throughout the city of San Diego through equitable investments in parks, greenspace and recreational opportunities. He is the board chair of San Diego County Capital Leasing Corporation (SANCAL) to provide means for the County to issue low-cost debt instruments to fund the procurement of capital facilities and equipment. He first joined the SANCAL board of directors in 1986, just two years after its establishment.
Anderson also serves as a board chair for Comprehensive Adult Student Assessment Systems (CASAS), providing basic and academic skills testing for youths and adults, and has served on the California Southern Small Business Development Corporation board since its inception in 1989, helping small and mid-size businesses secure financial assistance.
Anderson earned his bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Cincinnati and his master’s degree in business administration at The University of San Diego.
